Cost Savings vs. Consultant

The problem with this is that it gives the contracted person the advantage. It benefits them to have your companies systems down and to have continual problems. They also benefit from drawing out issues and delaying resolutions. Therefore accurately predicting IT costs or avoiding increased downtime is almost impossible. While this solution helps to fix short term problems it does not ensure a worry free environment long-term, and it often costs a lot.
